On 15 April 2024, at about 01 50, Kachin state fire department received a report indicating that a fire had broken out at the Daw Sai Taung’s (30x20) house located at the Sat Kone Yat, Zone 4, Myazayar quarter, Moenyin township, Moenyin district, Kachin state. It was investigated that fire spread to the nearby bamboo wall from the location where the pig food pot was placed on the wood stove. Upon the information, fire engines from Hopin local fire station were sent to the fire and the fire was completely extinguished at 04 00. Due to the fire, two houses, a kitchen and a barn were lost. It is learned that the Hopin local police station has opened a case (pa) 19/2024 under the section 285 of the Penal Code against the Daw Sai Taung, the owner of the house for his negligence.
