On 16 February 2024, at about 10 05, Mandalay region fire department received a report indicating that a fire had broken out at the house measuring 30 by 40 feet and owned by Daw Htway. Upon the information, fire engines from Mandalay region were sent the fire and the fire was completely extinguished at 10 36. Due to the fire, a total of 21 houses, each with a (10x10 feet) tin roof and wooden floors, and 3 houses, which were 2-storey, were lost in the fire. It is learned that the Industrial zone, Pyigyitakon township Police station has opened a case under Section 285 of the Penal Code (Pa) 22/2024 against Daw Htway for her negligence.
