On 2 April 2024, at about 03 30, fire department  Tachiliek fire station received a report indicating that a fire had broken out at Sanlu village, Lwaltawkhan village tract, Tachiliek Township, Shan State. The fire occurred at U Phe Laung's (20'x25') house. It was reported that a fire started from residual fire. Upon the information, fire engines from Tachileik District/ Township were sent the fire and the fire was completely extinguished at 06 10. Due to the fire, 17 houses and a church were lost. It is learned that the Tachileik Township Police station has opened a case under Section 285 of the Penal Code (Pa) 46/2024 against U Phe Laung due to his negligence.
