On 30 March 2024, at about 09 06, a fire broke out by the owner U Myint Zaw's (30x30) 2 storey resident building at Butar street, Shansu Quarter, Tikegyi Township, Yangon Region . It was reported that a woman left an electric rice cooker on when she went out and it overheated and caught fire. According to the report,  the fire services personnel from Yangon region  with 10 firefighting vehicles and 8 water bowsers vehicles extinguished the fire. At about 09 46, the fire was completely extinguished. Due to the fire, the upper floor of the 2 storey building and 2 houses were destroyed. It is learned that Teikkyi township Police Station has opened a case under Section 285 of the Penal Code (Pa) 65/2024 against U Myint Zaw, the owner of the restaurant .
