On 14.5.2023, at about 15 35 Pm, Taunggyi Township Fire Station received  a call that a thapyay tree which has 5 ft  in girth and 40ft in height fell down on the (40' × 20' )  Welfare grocery store at the Southeast Regional Military Headquarters, Satsantun quarter, Taunggyi Township, Shan State. 10 Fire services personnel and 1 search & rescue vehicle from Taunggyi Township Fire Station removed and  cleaned the debris and the fallen tree. Due to the accident , the roofs of the (40' × 20' ) Welfare grocery store were damaged. No one was injured .
