On February 7, 2025, at 4:30 PM, a fire broke out at a (25x40) ft, single-story warehouse that owned by U Kyaw Htun, located at No. (247), No. (2) Street, Shan Tae Gyi (South) Ward, Dagon Myothit (South) Township, Yangon Region. The fire started when a five-gallon metal drum filled with gasoline caught fire while being opened using a tool, causing the flames to spread to the gasoline container. According to the report, firefighters from Yangon Region Fire Stations, including auxiliary firefighters extinguished the fire by using 3 support vehicles, 1 command vehicle,19 fire trucks and 8 water bowsers. The fire was successfully extinguished at 5:14 PM. Due to the fire (25x40) ft warehouse and 12 diesel barrels were destroyed. U Kyaw Htun, the owner, has been charged under Section 285 of the Penal Code at Dagon Myothit (South) Township Police Station (Case No. (P) 115/2025).
