On July 30, 2024, at about 1:00 PM, due to rainfall and soil erosion a Banyan tree approximately 50 feet tall and 6.5 feet in circumference fell down at  Yatana Htaik Htaung Street, Ward (56), South Dagon Myothit Township, Yangon Region. According to the report, firefighters from the South Dagon Myothit Township Fire Station, along with auxiliary firefighters and municipal park teams removed and cleaned the debris and fallen tree. The operations were completed by 4:20 PM. Due to the tree fallen no one was injured.
