At approximately 8:20 a.m. on 2 July 2026, a report was received that a pine tree, approximately 2 feet in circumference and 30 feet in height, had decayed and fallen across the Mandalay–Lashio downhill road, in front of the Yay Oo Oil Shop, Ward No. (9), Pyin Oo Lwin Township, Mandalay Region, causing an obstruction to traffic. Upon receiving the report, firefighters from the Pyin Oo Lwin District/Township Fire Station responded to the scene with one search and rescue vehicle and one fire engine. They carried out clearance operations, which were completed at approximately 8:42 a.m. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was no damage to property as a result of the incident.
