On 19 April 2026, at approximately 2:15 a.m., a fire broke out at  single-storey house that owned by Daw Zar Zar Lin, located on Ngamardanti (2) Street, Ward No. (14), Pathein. The fire was caused by overheating after an electric iron had been used and the power switch was accidentally left on. According to the report, firefighters from the Ayeyarwady Region Fire Services Department, Pathein District Fire Station, Pathein Township Fire Station, Ngawon Kyun Thar Local Fire Station, and Shwe Zedi Local Fire Station, together with auxiliary firefighters and members of the Pyitinehtaung Social Assistance Association, responded with five fire engines and four water bowsers to extinguish the fire. The fire was successfully extinguished at 2:28 a.m. Due to the fire, two single-storey houses were destroyed. It is also reported that Daw Zar Zar Lin was charged by Pathein Myoma Police Station under Case No. (P)45/2026, Section 285 of the Penal Code.
