On April 7, 2026, at approximately 3:48 p.m., a fire broke out at No. (6), Hnin Si Street, Thapyay Kone Ward, Mingalar Taung Nyunt Township, Yangon Region. The fire occurred in the first-floor (right room) of a nine-storey RCC twin building that owned by Daw Phyu Phyu Sein (56 years old). The fire occurred while a generator was being used during a power outage, and a power bank was being charged. Due to overheating of the electrical wiring, sparks were generated, which fell onto bags of clothing below and ignited the fire. According to the report, firefighters from Mingalar Taung Nyunt Township Fire Station, along with reserve fire brigade members, responded with one command vehicle, eight fire engines, and ten water bowsers. The fire was successfully extinguished at 4:20 p.m. Due to the fire, approximately 200 bags of clothing were destroyed. Legal action has been taken against the owner, Daw Phyu Phyu Sein (56 years old), by Mingalar Taung Nyunt Myoma Police Station under Case No. (Pa) 279/2026, in accordance with Section 285 of the Penal Code.
