On 5 December 2025 at approximately 12:29 PM, a fire broke out at a (10 x 15) foot wood-fuel chili roasting furnace located inside an (80 x 100) foot steel structure building owned by U Khin Zaw, situated at the corner of Hinthar Street and Yangon Road, Nyaung Pin Village, Dagon Myothit (Seikkan) Township, Yangon Region. The fire started when the chilies being heated inside the furnace overheated, causing ignition. According to the report, firefighters from Dagon Myothit (Seikkan) Fire Station, Dagon Myothit (East) Fire Station, Let Htaung Kan Area Fire Station, and Nyaung Pin Area Fire Station, along with auxiliary fire personnel, responded with four fire engines and two water bowsers. The fire was successfully extinguished at 12:51 PM. As a result of the fire, approximately 20 viss of chili, one 1HP motor, and some electrical wiring were damaged by fire. In connection with the incident, worker U Myint Zaw (38 years old) has been charged by Thayetpinchaung Area Police Station under Case No. (P) 23/2025, Section 285 of the Penal Code, and legal action has been taken.
