On May 11, 2025, at around 2:00 p m, a fire broke out in the upstairs bedroom of U Kyaw Thu Aung, the nephew of Daw Tin May, at a two-story (20x30 ft) residential house with a zinc roof and fenced walls, located in East Sintine Ward, Taunggyi Ward, Amarapura Township, Mandalay Region. The fire started due to overheating of an electric fan that had been left running. Upon receiving the report, firefighters from the Amarapura Township Fire Station, Taungthaman Auxiliary Fire Station, Thonebo Auxiliary Fire Station, and the Myanmar Social Rescue Organization responded to the fire with three fire engines and two water bowsers. The fire was successfully put out at 2:12 p m. Due to the fire, the complete destruction of the upper floor of the (20x30 ft), two-story residential house was destroyed. U Kyaw Thu Aung, the responsible person, is being prosecuted by the Amarapura Township Police Station under case number (Pa) 110/2025, in accordance with Section 285 of the Penal Code.
