On February 11, 2025, at approximately 11:28 AM, a fire broke out in a (15x40) ft, two-story RC (reinforced concrete) residential building that owned by U Than Htwe, located between (28x29) and (81x82) in the East Quarter of Chanayethazan Township, Mandalay Region. The fire started when sparks from welding Deck Sheet steel plates for concrete roofing fell onto a pile of clothes below, causing the fire to spread. According to the report, firefighters from Chanayethazan Township Fire Station, along with auxiliary fire stations from Aung Nan Yeittha (East and West), Pyigyipyawbwe (West), Yadanarbonmi (West), Hema Zala, and Thiri Hema (West), extinguished the fire with a command vehicle, 7 fire trucks, and 3 water bowsers. At about 11:35 AM, the fire was completely extinguished. Due to the fire, the upper floor of the house, front doors and cloths were destroyed. U Than Htwe was charged under Section 285 of the Penal Code by Chanayethazan Township Police Station No. (8) (Case No. (Pa) 37/2025).
