On September 2, 2024, at approximately 4:40 AM, a fire broke out at an "Auto Mobile" phone and phone accessories shop located on Kantharyar Road, Ward No. (5), Labutta Township, Latputtar District, Ayeyarwady Region. The shop, measuring (18x30) feet was owned by Daw Khin Swe Myint and rented by U Ye Naing. The started due to battery case overheating while charging, which led to ignition. According to the report, firefighters from the Latputtar District and Township Fire Stations, along with volunteer firefighters extinguished the fire with three fire engines and two water bowsers. The fire was successfully extinguished by 5:15 AM. Due to the fire, (18x30) feet two shops and concrete floors, (9x30) feet a part of the roof of another shop  were partially damaged. The Labutta Township Police Station has opened a case against the shop tenant, U Ye Naing, under Case No. (Pa) 75/2024, in accordance with Section 285 of the Penal Code.
