
On August 24, 2024, at around 7:00 AM, due to the rising water levels of the Ngalike Creek in Pyinmana Township, Pyinmana District, Naypyidaw, floodwaters entered residential areas in Shwe Chi Ward (Sector 5 and Sector 7) and Ywar Kauk Ward. According to the report, firefighters from the Pyinmana Township Fire Station, along with auxiliary firefighters, coordinated with relevant organizations by using one fire truck and one transport boat to carry out evacuation operations. The operations were completed by 12:30 PM. Due to the floodwater, 369 households, consisting of 2,011 people from Shwe Chi Ward (Sector 5 and Sector 7) and Ywar Kauk Ward, were relocated to safer places, including the Sinhoe Photoke Monastery and the homes of relatives. No casualties or injuries were reported.
