On 9 August 2026,  at about 8:00 a.m. due to heavy rainfall in Mingin Township, Sagaing Region, the water level of the Chindwin River rose, causing floodwater to enter houses in Thayet Taw Ward, a low-lying area of Mingin. According to the report, SAR members and auxiliary firefighters from Mingin Township Fire Station, in cooperation with relevant organizations, assisted in evacuating 34 households comprising 107 people from the affected area to a safe location. No injuries or casualties were reported as a result of the incident.
