On 13 November 2025, at around 4:23 PM, a fire outbreak occurred at one-storey steel structure the Maha Aung Myay Cinema (under construction) located between 42nd × 43rd Streets, 86th Street, Maha Aung Myay Township, Mandalay Region, owned by U Maung Shwe. According to the report  firefighters and auxiliary firefighters from Mandalay Region Fire Station responded with 3 administrative vehicles, 10 fire engines, and 5 water bowsers. The fire was successfully extinguished at 4:45 PM. Due to the fire, one (50×70) ft, single-storey steel structure building was destroyed and the cinema in charge U Kyaw Soe Paing (34), has been charged by the No. (7) Police Station under Case No. (Pa) 158/2025, in accordance with Section 285 of the Penal Code.
